The ReFarm project officially kicked off with its first Transnational Project Meeting (TPM), hosted by Hof Tolle in Germany. Over two productive days, project partners came together to align on the project’s objectives, work plan and upcoming activities while strengthening collaboration within the consortium.
Alongside the project meeting, partners participated in an engaging skill-sharing workshop, where each organisation contributed its expertise and practical experience in regenerative agriculture, education and knowledge transfer.
A highlight of the programme was the guided farm tour at Hof Tolle, where participants gained first-hand insights into regenerative farming practices and discussed practical approaches to implementing Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) on agricultural land.
The consortium also visited the nearby company Kohlehelden, a producer of biochar for agricultural applications. During the excursion, participants learned about the production process, the role of biochar in improving soil health and carbon sequestration, and its potential as an important component of regenerative farming systems.
Knowledge exchange continued with contributions from all project partners. The Danish team introduced storytelling techniques as a powerful communication tool to inspire farmers and make complex sustainability topics more engaging and relatable. Partners from Czechia shared practical methods for translating scientific and technical knowledge into accessible learning materials that are easy for farmers to understand and apply in their daily work.
The workshop demonstrated the strength of the ReFarm partnership: by combining expertise from different countries and disciplines, the consortium is building a solid foundation for developing innovative educational resources and practical training opportunities that will support the wider adoption of Nature-Based Solutions across Europe.
The meeting concluded with a clear roadmap for the coming months and a shared commitment to creating high-quality learning materials, demonstration activities and collaborative training formats that empower farmers to build more resilient and sustainable farming systems.
